Free Lunch for Tuesday, August 26th

Chattanooga, TN – The Free Lunch for Tuesday, August 26, will be the new album from fiddler, Rani Arbo and her band, Daisy Mayhem. The album is titled Gambling Eden and released on Signature records.

Recently, Arbo and company thrilled the Nightfall crowd in downtown Chattanooga with their eclectic stylings. Not only is traditional bluegrass present, but the added rhythmic percussion opens new doors for the band's musical creativity.

Free Lunch for Thursday, August 21

Chattanooga, TN – The Free Lunch for Thursday, August 21, will be a recording of Tim Easton's set at the Tivoli Theatre on Saturday, August 9, 2003. Easton was the opening act for John Hiatt and the Goners.

The concert was a benefit for the Pete Parker foundation, a local charity in Chattanooga.

Easton took the stage with nothing more than a Gibson acoustic guitar and his trusty harmonica. Through the next 45 minutes the audience heard one of acoustics' hidden treasures performing beautiful roots-based power ballads.

Free Lunch for Tuesday, August 19

Chattanooga, TN – The Free Lunch for Tuesday, August 19th will be the latest release from the blistering Derek Trucks Band. The album Soul Serenade, is released on Columbia records.

Derek Trucks has made a name for himself as a guitar phenom. He began playing guitar when he was nine and eventually landed a coveted spot with The Allman Brothers playing guitar on Hittin' the Note. His uncle is the drummer Butch Trucks, also of Allman Brother fame.

Chattanooga, TN – The Free Lunch for Thursday, August 14, will be the latest album from Scott Miller and the Commonwealth. Released on Sugar Hill records, Upside Downside takes listeners back to the glory days of 70's FM radio.

Miller, formerly of the raucous V-roys, is a born songwriter. According to Sugar Hill records, Miller is a native of Swoope, VA, and began performing while working as a construction worker in Knoxville, TN. Fans fell in love with his tenor voice and soon he was touring the southeast with the V-roys.

Chattanooga, TN – On Tuesday, WUTC will air Kate Campbell's latest release, "Monuments" in its entirety.

Campbell, a Nashville based singer-songwriter, comments on the societal changes below the mason-dixon line.

"Monuments" is Cambell's sixth album and first for Large River recordings. Her first performance was at a church with her sister singing Dolly Parton's "Daddy was an old time preacher man."

Campbell's influences were James Taylor, Peter, Paul, and Mary, and Kris Kristofferson.

Chattanooga, TN – Tony Furtado is a renowned slide guitarist/banjo player and known for his progressive bluegrass and Celtic stylings.

Originally from Boulder CO, Furtado studied music and art at Cal State Hayward. He then turned heads in Kansas by winning the Grand National Banjo Championship. In 1992 Furtado released his first album "Swamped," on Rounder records.

Chattanooga, TN – Thursday's Free Lunch will be the Tuscon Az, based Calexico. Their new album titled Feast of Wire will be aired in its entirety at noon on Thursday, July 10.

Fans of Calexico are drawn to the group's varying styles of music. On Feast of Wire, all of the songs seem to gather their roots from various musical backgrounds. Songs such as Stevie Nicks, and Sunken Waltz exemplify Calexico's varying stylistic influences.
