3 Chattanooga Authors Offer Free Audiobooks This Month

In this interview, Chattanooga authors Becky Wooley and Michael W. Gardner and Chattanooga audiobook narrator George Taylor explain how to get free downloads of their work--available in June only.

From a media release:

THREE CHATTANOOGA AUTHORS, ONE CHATTANOOGA NARRATOR

In celebration of Audiobook month in June 2014, three independent Chattanooga authors and a Chattanooga narrator are offering free copies of the audiobook editions of their works.  All three authors have chosen Audiobook Narrator, George Taylor (narrationbygeorge.com), to read and produce audio book versions of their novels.

It began with readings at the Chattanooga Public Library in the spring of 2012.  Becky Wooley, author of Non-Prophet Murders, asked Taylor to read a section from her book for the event. Jerry Minchew, author of Knighthawke and Knighthawke: Vanishing Shadows, heard Taylor's dramatic reading of the death of one Ms. Wooley's characters and inquired of Taylor about recording his books.

Taylor, who had recorded books in the past for the West Tennessee Talking Library in Memphis, and the Little Rock Radio Reading Service in Arkansas, investigated what was needed to recording Minchew's books and found audible.com's production arm, ACX.com. He signed up as a producer, set up a studio, and went to work.

Not only did Minchew want his books recorded, but Wooley was interested in having her first book recorded.  Michael W. Gardner, the author of Seasons of Change, also met Taylor and requested that his book be produced.

At the time of this writing, both of Jerry Minchew’s books have been recorded and are available on audible.com, amazon.com, and in the iTunes store.  Michael Gardner’s book, Seasons of Change, has been recorded and the files are being checked by acx.com for their release soon.

Becky Wooley’s Non Prophet Murders is in the midst of production with completion and release expected in mid-June.

To secure one of a limited number of free copies of any one of these audiobooks, visit the Facebook page for Narration by George (www.facebook.com/narrationbygeorge), “like” his page, and send him a message telling which book you would like to read.  Ten copies of each audiobook will be available during the month of June.

George Taylor has spent his working career in non-acting roles, communicating ideas and concepts for various sales organizations in the south-east before retiring from the Federal Government’s employ August 2013.  As an actor, he has appeared in plays by Tennessee Williams and Arthur Miller and more; written and directed both full length plays and short sketches; and narrated audio books for the West Tennessee Talking Library in Memphis and the Radio Reading Service of the Arkansas.  As the owner of Narration by George (narrationbygeorge.com), Taylor has completed production of three novels and four books of poetry which are all available at audible.com, amazon.com, and in the iTunes store.  He has also completed production of two westerns for Helping Hands Press which are awaiting release and has contracts for six more books.  He is also the voice for Davis the Duck, Bentley the Beaver, and Grandpa in puppet video productions for the Christ Clubhouse Channel, found on Roku.  Taylor is also a photographer whose work can be found for purchase at 3-george-taylor.artistwebsites.com.

Jerry Minchew was born and raised on the Alabama Gulf Coast.  He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam era, has served as a pastor for churches in Texas and Alaska.  Although retired from the full-time pastorate, he serves as chaplain for the Civil Air Patrol in the rank of Lt. Colonel.  He works in nuclear security and writes from his home in the Chattanooga area.  He is working on his third book in the Knighthawke series.  Minchew can be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/pages/Jerry-Minchew/22504539977.

The Knighthawke series tells the story of Michael Walker, kidnapped at eight months old, and raised by foster parents.  Michael joins the Air Force in an effort to find his past, his family, and his identity.  Along the way, he finds and loses love and becomes a secret weapon for the Air Force with a direct line to the President.  The books mixes spies, science-fiction, and romance to tell an exciting tale of Michael's search for himself.

Michael W. Gardner is a graduate of Freed-Hardeman University and an accountant currently practicing in North Georgia  He has been active in missions work to Belarus and Russia and has published numerous articles on both religious matters and taxes for preachers.  His first book, Seasons of Change, was released in late 2012 as the first of a trilogy.  Gardner can be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/seasonstrilogy.

Seasons of Change, the first of a trilogy, tells the story of a very different world.  Set in the Chattanooga area, all governments have collapsed, the economy is in shambles, and Michael is trying to just survive and get to his family in Arkansas.  His journey ultimately includes a camp of others seeking the same freedoms he is seeking to preserve.  Michael's leadership abilities are put to the test and everyone's ingenuity is needed to survive attacks from gangs who would enslave them all.

Non Prophet Murders tells the story of four preachers and their congregants. Three are murdered.  The fourth seeks to find the murderer.  Along the way, Wooley shares her observations - touching, funny, and satirical - of church members and church life.
