Alzheimer’s Association to Host Living With Alzheimer’s Disease Series

From a media release:

The Alzheimer’s Association will present an eight-week education series entitled Living
With Alzheimer’s Disease starting Tuesday, February 3, 2015. The program will take place each
Tuesday from 10:00 to 12:00 for eight weeks and will be held at the Alzheimer’s Association
Community Outreach Center, 922 East Morris Street, Dalton.

Living With Alzheimer’s Disease is a series of education programs that provide answers
to the questions that arise in the early, middle and late stages of the disease. The first three weeks
of the program are specifically for people in the early stages of the disease and their caregivers.
The following three weeks will cover issues that arise in the middle stage of the disease. Then,
the final two weeks of the program will discuss late stage care. Attendees will hear from those
directly affected and learn what they need to know, what they need to plan, and what they can do
at each point along the way. This program will cover information for caregivers of people with
early-stage Alzheimer’s disease, middle-stage Alzheimer’s disease, and late-stage Alzheimer’s
disease. Topics covered will include: Developing a care team, legal and financial planning,
coping strategies, care and treatment options, communicating and connecting, and maximizing
independence.

Registration is required. For more information or to register, call 1-800-272-3900.
