Charity Begins at Home: Chambliss Center's Roots Go Back to 1872

This segment is part of our Charity Begins at Home series, in which we profile nonprofits that have strong ties to the Chattanooga area.  The Chambliss Center for Children has a long history dating back to the 1870s.  Over the decades, they've changed from an orphanage into a facility that provides affordable childcare and early childhood education for low-income families.  They've also started several innovative initiatives, such as 24-hour child care and helping local teachers by running child care centers for the teachers' kids at the schools where the teachers work.

Leslie Berryhill, Director of Communications, takes us on a tour of the main Chambliss facility, located in Brainerd, to meet some of the kids and staff and hear more about what they do.
