Chatt State or UTC? With Dual Admissions, Students Choose Both

  Chattanooga State Community Collegestudents who plan to transfer to the University of Tennessee at Chattanoogacan get a head start by enrolling in the dual admissions program. In this segment, we discuss the program with Gail Campbell, Director of the Admissions and Enrollment Services Center at Chattanooga State and Yancy Freeman, Assistant Provost for Enrollment Services at UTC.

Benefits

  • Students will have access to more personalized advising from UTC throughout their time at Chattanooga State to make sure their classes are in line to transfer appropriately.
  • Dual Admission students will also have the option to use UTC services like the ARC, attend athletic events, use new library facilities, and have access to Student Health Services with a nominal fee each semester.
  • Students will receive priority registration the semester of graduation from Chattanooga State.

Criteria Checklist

  • Student must be pursuing an AS, AA, AST, or TTP degree at Chatt State
  • Student plans to pursue a Bachelor's Degree at UTC.
  • Student meets current admissions criteria for Chattanooga State.
  • Student has earned 29 or fewer college-level course hours (excluding Dual Studies and Prior Learning Assessment credit).
  • If college-level courses have been earned, cumulative GPA is greater than 2.0
  • Student must meet with their respective Academic Completion Coach to complete an Intent to Participate form.
