Start It Up Episode 28: Dynepic and Artiphon Shine at 36/86 Conference

Created by Launch Tennessee, the 36/86 Technology Conference in Nashville featured dozens of startup companies from across the southeast.  Among these technology innovators were Dynepic from Charleston, SC and Artiphon from Nashville, TN.

Krissa Watry, Co-Founder and CEO of Dynepic, explains on this week's episode that the toy industry has lagged behind in adopting new technologies.  Dynepic has developed ways to make toys more interactive, even making action figures play along with their counterparts on film and TV.

Dr. Mike Butera, Founder and CEO of Artiphon, has created a cool musical instrument that can sample any sound and have it played musically.  So, the same device can be a piano, banjo, or even a foghorn.  Artiphon puts an entire symphony in the hands of a single musician with a single device.

Susanne Burnham was the Executive Producer of Start it Up from October of 2014 to August of 2015. She is a graduate of The Company Lab’s Accelerator. She is the Founder and CEO of Click Click Boom, a graduate of the University of Georgia and a U.S. Army Veteran (Desert Storm). She launched her career in the mobile tech industry in 2009, and in 2012 relocated to Chattanooga because of EPB’s fiber optic network and to participate in the City’s growth as a tech and startup hub.
