There were several shake-ups on the Hamilton County School Board following yesterday’s elections.
Newcomer Tiffanie Robinson ousted the District 4 incumbent, George Ricks. Also, newcomer Joe Wingate beat Donna Horn in District 7. And Kathy Lennon ousted Jonathan Welch in District 2. That means, of the four school board incumbents up for re-election yesterday, three of them lost their races.
U.S. Representative Chuck Fleischmann easily beat Republican challengers seeking his 3rd District seat. In the next general election, in November, he’ll go on to face Melody Shekari, who won the Democratic nomination.
In the Tennessee State Legislature races, District 10 Republican Todd Gardenhire ran unopposed. Khristy Wilkinson took the Democratic nomination and will face him in November.
In District 29, Republican incumbent Mike Carter beat newcomer Ethan White.
And in District 28, incumbent Joanne Favors beat Dennis Clark.
