Comedy

A new monthly comedy showcase starts on Friday, June 3rd at Cinerama. Ladie's Night (yes, that's how the creators spell it) showcases original short films created by the Ladie's Night team, films submitted by other groups, and live stand-up comedy. Former Chattanooga comedian Joel Ruiz started Ladie's Night in Atlanta with Zack Lamplugh and Brian Emond. The Atlanta showcase happens the first Thursday of each month; the Chattanooga showcase will happen on Fridays.

Knoxville native Henry Cho has been doing stand-up for nearly 30 years, and because he does clean comedy, he's able to perform nearly anywhere--from Las Vegas to comedy clubs to churches.  In this interview, Cho talks about what it was really like to grow up Korean in Knoxville, how he became a successful comedian very quickly (opening for Jerry Seinfeld and others), and how he finds inspiration from his in-laws in Arab, Alabama.

Joel Ruiz, the creative force behind Evatt & Bloom productions, joins us for an interview.
