  Chattanooga Theatre Centre Executive Director George Quick joins us to discuss two of their upcoming productions.    Sister Act: A Divine Musical is based on the 1992 hit comedy.  The Broadway version was nominated for five Tony Awards.  It starts September 18th at the CTC and runs through October 4th.

Closed Door Entertainment

In this segment, we've got excerpts from Closed Door Entertainment's production of  Mary Poppins - The Musical.  It features new songs as well as many classics from the 1964 Disney film.  We're also speaking with Mary Beth Torgerson, who plays the lead role of Mary Poppins, and Johnny Krause, who plays George Banks.

Performances will be May 22nd & 23rd at 7:30 pm and May 23rd & 24th at 2 pm at the Memorial Auditorium.

Local playwrights Jeremy Pickard and Jennifer R. Jones join us to talk about their one-act plays being performed at the Dalton Little Theatre in Dalton, Georgia.  Pickard wrote and is directing Dickcissel, an avant-garde work about a bird caught in a barbed-wire fence who interacts with a cowboy.  The play deals with themes of identity and the unanswerable questions in this world, according to the Dalton Little Theatre's Web site.  Jennifer R.

Closed Door Entertainment is performing Chicago on September 19th and 20th at the Memorial Auditorium's Robert K. Walker Memorial  Theatre.  Cast members Greg Glover and Randy Forester join us to talk about this Broadway favorite.
