Chattanooga, TN – Thanks to stations like WUTC many albums that would often go unheard on commercial radio are getting a second chance.
'Failer,' a new album by 24-year-old, alternative-country diva Kathleen Edwards is a perfect example. On Thursday, Jan. 30, WUTC will present the Failer in its entirety as a part of the weekly Free Lunch from noon to 1p.m.
Edwards has been compared to artists like Lucinda Williams, but admits to Rolling Stone magazine that her real influence is a different artist.

Chattanooga, TN – Morning Edition will premiere its first original radio play, "I'd Rather Eat Pants", in five daily eight-minute segments from December 16-20, 2002. The play was recorded live at Thye Museum of Television and Radio in Beverly Hills on November 1 as part of the grand opening of NPR West, NPR's new L.A.-base multimedia production center.
The humorous five-act play, directed by noted Broadway director Gordon Hunt, is the story of an elderly couple's trek from New York to Los Angeles on a young slacker's motorcycle to find fame, fortune and a whole lot more.
"The songs on Beeline are about the present," says singer-songwriter Peter Case of his latest album an immediate, musically multi-lingual missive from the frontlines of his emotions. "I'm not carrying the weight of telling stories of the past, I'm telling the story of right now and so I'm free to emote: Just lean back, close my eyes and sing."
