Steely Bruno

   You’re never too young to learn about jazz, and Steely Bruno (a trumpet player/composer whose real name is Antoine Williamson) introduces schoolchildren to legends like Miles Davis and Wynton Marsalis, and teaches kids to play a few tunes themselves. He's on the roster of the Tennessee Arts Commission teaching artists.

The Ensemble Theatre of Chattanooga's production Lunch Money  is based on children's real experiences with bullying, and is intended to open a dialogue among children.  Eleven Ooltewah Middle School students recently performed it.  In this segment, Ensemble Theatre Artistic Director Garry Lee Posey, Ooltewah Middle theater teacher Chris Cooper and student Ryan Cain talk about the play's impact and where it may next be seen.  The play can be customized for different schools--it can be re-written to reflect the specific expe

The ACE Mentor Program of Chattanooga, Southeast Tennessee and North Georgia connects high school students with architects, engineers and other professionals in the construction industry.  Students who participate in the program work on design teams, learn real-world skills and get the opportunity to win scholarships.
