Linda Benton from the Chattanooga Hamilton County Medical Society Alliance joins us to discuss the second annual Med Rock Battle of The Bands, which will raise money for a scholarship fund.  We're also speaking with Courtney Green, a freshman at The University of Georgia, who won last year's $10,000 award.

Writer Jan Phillips Coming to Chattanooga for a Two-Day Performance & Workshop on 2/20, 2/21

Stone Soup is a group of seven ladies who meet regularly for lunch, for conversations about life’s questions—and for fun. During one meeting one lady introduced the others to the writer, teacher, poet, musician and philosopher Jan Phillips. They were all so taken with what she had to say that they invited her to come to Chattanooga. Richard Winham talked to Sue Reynolds and Emma Ford, two of the seven members of Stone Soup.

Dalton Little Theatre Presents 'A Night of One Acts' Feb 13, 14 & 15

Local playwrights Jeremy Pickard and Jennifer R. Jones join us to talk about their one-act plays being performed at the Dalton Little Theatre in Dalton, Georgia.  Pickard wrote and is directing Dickcissel, an avant-garde work about a bird caught in a barbed-wire fence who interacts with a cowboy.  The play deals with themes of identity and the unanswerable questions in this world, according to the Dalton Little Theatre's Web site.  Jennifer R.

Applications are now open for GIGTANK 2015, an annual startup accelerator that invites entrepreneurs to develop ultra high-bandwidth business applications on Chattanooga’s fiber optic network.

Hosted by The Company Lab (CO.LAB), the program will take place May 4 – Aug. 15 at the organization’s new home in the Chattanooga Innovation Center. Participants will receive free housing on campus at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) from May 25 to July 31.
