Chattanooga Receives Code For America Fellowship

In 2014, some of the country's best web developers will take residence in the Scenic City. At least three fellows from Code For America will create web applications to serve the community of Chattanooga.

Mayor Andy Berke said in a media release, "City Government will collaborate with some of the top developers and designers from across the country, creating open-source web applications to help address important issues in our community - including public safety."

The National Day of Civic Hacking is Saturday, June 1st and Sunday, June 2nd. In cities across the nation, software developers, hackers, and citizens are coming together to create new technology that may help communities, neighborhoods, and cities. Chattanooga will be taking part in the national event with a local hack-a-thon.
