University of Tennessee at Chattanooga head football coach Russ Huesman has chosen to resign from his position with the Chattanooga Mocs to take the head coaching job at the University of Richmond, UTC Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics David Blackburn announced today.  Huesman recently finished his eighth year at Chattanooga with a 59-37 overall record and three consecutive trips to the FCS Playoffs. 

When Julian "Zeus" McClurkin was in high school, he got cut from the basketball team for several years. But his love of the game kept him going.

"My perseverance came from the naysayers," he says in this interview with WUTC's Calvin Forrest and WUTC's Michael Edward Miller.

McClurkin became a professional player--first for the Washington Generals, and now for their rivals, the Harlem Globetrotters.

Kerry Howley teaches creative nonfiction at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and she’s written articles and essays for The New York Times Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Reason and The Atlantic.  Her debut book, Thrown, is literary nonfiction about mixed martial arts fighting, philosophy and a search for transcendence.
