George T. Hunter Lecture Series Announce 2012/2013 Speakers

Diane Ravitch, Thomas Friedman, Will Allen, and Ira Glass will all be speakers as a part of the George T. Hunter Lecture Series.

Diane Ravitch will be the education speaker for the upcoming lecture series. Ravitch is a proponent for public education and best-selling author of The Death and Life of the Great American School System. She will be speaking on September 18th at Roland Hayes Auditorium at UTC.

Three-time Pulitzer Prize winner Thomas Friedman speaks on November 13th at the Tivoli Theater. A columnist for the New York Times, Friedman will be addressing community development for the George T. Hunter Lecture Series.

Will Allen is a MacAuthor Genius Award winner and the founder of Growing Power, an urban farm in Milwaukee serving surrounding low-income neighborhoods. Addressing environmental issues at the lecture series, Allen will be speaking at the Roland Hayes Auditorium on February 26th, 2013.

Finally, Ira Glass, the host of This American Life, will be the arts & culture speaker for the George T. Hunter Lecture Series. This American Life has over two million listeners and combines in-depth journalism with storytelling. Glass will be speaking at the Tivoli Theater on April 7th, 2013.
