Landscapers Get More By Going Native
- When landscapers use regional plants such as the Purple Coneflower, they can save on water and fertilizer. Because such plants evolved to thrive in the East Tennessee climate, they require less maintenance than foreign species.
A symposium titled Natural Landscaping: Getting More With Less is coming up March 9th at Chattanooga State Community College from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The Tennessee Valley Chapter of the Wild Ones organized the symposium. In this interview, WUTC's Michael Edward Miller speaks with Dr. Tim Spira, the symposium's keynote speaker, and Sally Wencel, the Vice President and Program Chair for the Tennessee Valley Chapter of the Wild Ones.
