Mark your calendar November 8 through November 15 for CHA175, a week-long celebration of the 175th anniversary of Chattanooga as a city. While the official celebration date starts next Saturday, November 8, there are several pre-events for residents across the city.
Citizens are invited to attend events designed to showcase the unique history and culture of Chattanooga. Any person, group, organization, or business is welcome to submit an event on the CHA175 website. Events should be centered on a key or unique aspect of Chattanooga and designed to engage the community. Events range from a giant birthday party in Coolidge Park on November 15 to walking tours of historic sites to discounts and specials at various stores and restaurants throughout Chattanooga.
By community-sourcing events and organizing a planning committee, the City will increase community collaboration in CHA175. Additionally, increased participation from the public will help ensure diverse facets of Chattanooga culture and history are represented throughout the week’s scheduled events.
